MYUNG- GA Korean BBQ

Hi everyone, we are back!

this time we went to eastwood to eat one of the famous korean bbq restaurant in Sydney and its MYUNG-GA Korean BBQ restaurant.

We went there on last Saturday and really want to try their best dish and its the grilled unagi which means grilled eel.

We order twice for the unagi because its really nice.. one portion is for $17. Besides, we also tried one of their best dish and it's their pork BBQ. The pork BBQ taste a little bit spicy and savoury but overall its really really fantastic

I really recommend you guys to try this. its a must to try the unagi and the pork.. but they also offer some other dish that you may want to try..

Starfish Cafe & Bar

Travelling to Dunedin, NZ we were on a lookout for a nice brunch place for some energy fuel that would last us throughout the day. We stumbled upon a nice looking café which seem fairly busy, so it must be good right? I order the salmon omelette which also included feta pieces and spinach. I must say though for a an omelette it was pretty darn good. The edges were nicely golden and crispy and the centre was moist, creamy and delicious! It was full of flavour with a generous amount of salmon and feta. I wasn't expecting much out a fairly simple omelette but it was indeed one of the best omelettes I've tried. My coffee however was burnt which I didn't end up finishing but just left it on the table. Overall it was a pleasant brunch and I would return but would probably not go there for the coffee.

1 Ton

Beef Brisket Noodle Soup

Looking for somewhere to eat at after exploring Vivi Sydney - Chatswood? Then 1 Ton at The District is the place to be! They serve a variety of Chinese noodle soups and Wonton products. Perfect for this cold weather!

I went to The District with a bunch of mates not having a particular restaurant in mind to go to. We walked around and decided to stay at 1 Ton and try out their noodle soups. I tried their Cold Soya Milk and beef brisket noodle soup as I am a big fan of anything with beef brisket. It was served really quickly - under 5 minutes. The broth was on point- not too sweet not too salty, the beef was flavourful and was very soft, and the noodles were cooked perfectly - not too soggy not too firm. The soya milk was very refreshing! I haven't had this type of asian soya milk in a while and it tasted so good!

Overall, I would recommend you guys to try 1 Ton out! Their noodle soups are perfect for the cold weather and the taste is amazing!

Hurricane's Grill

Beef Ribs

Hurricanes Grill is an incredibly popular place in Sydney, and once you have experienced the delicious offerings of this restaurant you will not forget this awesome taste in your mind. However, the ribs are their most popular item in restaurant, and it shows our unique original basting sauce, which combine all of dish perfectly. In addition, the ribs give me the unforgettable flavour, and the meat very soft and delicious. I did not eat the ribs often before, but after I try the hurricane's grill, I can not wait for the next time in there. Moreover, there also have varied options for customers, such as chips, burgers, beers, salad and steak. Therefore, the customers can have the comfortable and great time in hurricane's gill.

Pizza E Birra

I visited this shop during my holiday in Indonesia, specifically in a city called Bandung. This city is not the capital city of the country, but it is nearby the capital. This small city has a really friendly environment and people. There's one of the most famous mall in that city, where all teenagers usually hangout at, called Paris Van Java. Then I decided to try one of their signature dessert, Vanilla Pannacotta. The texture is so creamy and for I think it is one of the best pannacotta I've ever tried in my life. So if you are craving for pannacotta, this is a must!
That's it for now. Thanks for visiting our blog!
Don't forget to keep yourself updated with the upcoming posts!
and talk to you guys next time! Cheers!

The Missing Piece

Smoked Salmon on Toast

The Missing piece is a new restaurant located right infront of Uniqlo at Macquarie Centre's new shopping wing. I'm assuming it's called The Missing Piece as their kitchen is a walking distance from the actual restaurant. The staff was really accommodating, giving us a table straight away, all smiles and they were joking around too! It made me want to apply for a job there.

Recently, I've been craving for smoked salmon - anything with Smoked Salmon, so when I saw this dish on The Missing Piece's Menu, I ordered it straight away. The food took a while to serve, but the wait was worth it. It allowed me and my friend to have more time to talk about our weekend and whatnot, and enjoy the Vanilla Soy Latte that I ordered (unfortunately, I wasn't able to take a photo of that cos it went into my tummy as soon as it touched the table)

The dish is usually served with sourdough bread, but i'm not a fan of sourdough so I opted for the basic Ciabatta bread. As you can see in the photo, there was a generous thick layer of mashed avocado, big chunk of smoked salmon and a slice of lime. I thought the salmon wasn't salty enough, but after adding some salt, it was delicious. The smokey smell was on point! The lime definitely got rid of the fishy smell and overall, it was a delicious dish. Simple, but oh so good because it satisfied my craving.

De Pho (Vietnamese & Chinese restaurant)

Crispy Chicken Rice

Today, I am going to introduce this awesome food that I ate yesterday in Chatswood. De Pho restaurant is located in the lemon grove shopping centre, and the store is next to New Shanghai. However, if my friend did not take me to this shop, I will not taste this delicious food. Crispy chicken rice and beef noodles are two popular dishes in the restaurant, and the staff also recommend me to try this popular meal. When my order is coming, I firstly noticed the special green sauce. The staff told me that this special sauce causes this meal become popular. The green sauce is made from spring onion, and it has perfect flavour when people are eating the chicken with the sauce. In addition, the chicken skin is not too dry, and the meat very soft. Moreover, it will come with a vegetable soup, and basically it is made from the carrot. Thus, it is a good dish for people who care about the health. To sum up, I had a great dinner time yesterday, and it satisfied my taste too. Hence, if readers are near Chatswood, and try to have this fabulous food!

Manchester Press

When I went to Melbourne a friend took me to a well known café in the CBD. I've never experienced a bagel before so I wasn't expecting much. The place had a nice hipster vibe located in a small alleyway. I decided to try out their Salmon bagel with cream cheese and capers, sided with a small salad. It was quite busy but the food didn't take too long. When I first took my bite I was expecting more of a soft bite, but unexpectedly it was quite chewy and crispy. However, I was told that toasted bagels are meant to be like that. Together with the salmon and capers it was quite tasty, full of flavour. The salmon wasn't too salty and it balanced well together with the capers and cream cheese. With my meal I also had a café latte and I must salute them with their coffee. Out of all the cafés I went to during the trip, their coffee was on point. It had a nice aroma and bitterness to it which I appreciated and enjoyed. Overall, my first time experience trying a bagel was average I would go there again just to get their coffee though!

La Renaissance Patisserie

I've heard a lot of good reviews about this patisserie, so I decided to give it a try a while ago. I went to The Rocks area a while ago to have lunch with my friends. A few of my friends and I had arrived earlier in the area, and while waiting for others to come, we decided to stop by in this patisserie. I had a cup of soy flat white coffee, along with one of their famous cakes, called Goya. It's a Raspberry mousse  cake with passionfruit cremeux and almond nougatine, topped with fresh berries. In term of taste, it has a very refreshing and sweet combination between the berries and the almond, but it is too sour, according to my liking. The presentation of the cake is really nice, I love the color of this small piece of cake, topped with fresh berries and macaroon shells on the sides of the cakes. Overall, I really like the atmosphere of the cafe and the cake was okay. The coffee is really nice, though. I'd loved to try more of their cakes, cause there are still a lot of options to choose from. So, I'll definitely stop by again another time! Don't forget to also stop by in this patisserie and try some of their products. Not only cakes and coffee, they also have macaroons, bakery and tarts. So, stop by if you have time.
That's it for now, thanks for visiting our blog!

Passion flowers !

Eating ice cream in a cold weather is not a really good option, however, passion flower is an exemption for this !

Located inside capitol square, george st. Passion flower is really nice place to have dessert and chill out with your friends. They offer plenty and various type of ice cream flavours. During my visit, there are 2 flavours that catch my attention and it is coconut flavours and cookies and cream flavours.

Its really nice the flavours and the place. We spend more than 2 hours there to have a chit chat and more ice cream of course. After finish with the first round, i feel tempted to try their waffle and premium ice cream.

They have 3 category of flavours, Western, Eastern and Premium. For this one im going to try for the premium flavours, while cookies and cream is western flavours and eastern is the eastern flavours. I order black sesame ice cream with waffle and Maple syrup and it was really FANTASTIC !

i recommend all of you to try this place to have a really nice dessert !

Ippudo

Shiromaru Motoaji

Sydney temperature is starting to drop and what better way to welcome the cold weather but by having a nice warm bowl of creamy Ramen.

Yesterday I had this really strong craving for ramen because the weather was icy cold, so I decided to trek it to the city just to be able to satisfy my craving and warm up my body. I chose to go to Ippudo because my Ramen-addict sister told me that they make the best Ramen in the world.

I ordered Shiromaru Motoaji with the noodles done normally. It had rich Tonkotsu broth, pork loin, bean sprouts, black mushroom and shallots. To be honest, I think I expected too much from this ramen. My sister hyped me up so much that my expectations were so high up there that when I tasted it, it didn't live up to my expectations, but nevertheless I was happy because my craving was satisfied.

If you're looking for a ramen place, I would still suggest that you go visit Ippudo, but there's nothing special. Their ramen just tastes like every other ramen in Sydney.

Mappen - Japanese Noodle & Rice Bowl Bar

Mappen is a self service udon noodle bar. We decided to give this place a try since it had good reviews and the price is relatively friendly. When we arrived there was a long queue, quite expected for a Friday night at the city, however, since it's a self serve place the line moved fast. The ambience of the restaurant made me feel like I was in Japan, something I enjoyed. It's quite small with limited seats however most people ate and left which I thought was considerate.
The menu had quite a lot of variation. We could choose between large or small bowl.  I decided to get the large ontama bukkake udon's with two eggs. You could pick your own sides to go with your meal which costed around $2-$4. I chose tepanyaki balls and kimchi. In total my meal cost $12 which was fairly decent for a meal I thought.
I really enjoyed the udon noodles however the dish lacked soup, it need more of it. Since it's a self serve place, the soup was already pre made and my soup was lukewarm. The tepanyaki balls however were delish, crispy on the outside and hot in the inside. The 63 degrees eggs were made perfectly which I appreciated.  All in all the dish was average. Would I come back? Yes, to try some of their curry udon dishes that appealed to me.

Luxbite

Luxbite is a French Patisserie that has a retail shop in Melbourne. It's famous with the macarons and unique looking cakes. I visited the shop a while ago to try out some of their signature cakes and macaroon.

I decided to order one of their signature cakes, which is called the Meringue Monster. This cakes has layers of green tea sponge, pistachio, watermelon, yoghurt, sour strawberry mousse, and meringue. It is also claimed to be a gluten free cake. I took my first bite into it and all the flavour just explode in my mouth. The sourness of the yogurt and the strawberry mousse balance out the sweetness from the green tea sponge and the meringue perfectly. This is a type of cake that you might want to have more than one. The sour background leave a very refreshing taste in the mouth, so don't forget to grab one of this when you visit the shop!

The second cake that I decided to purchase is their Chocolate, Mandarin and Salted Caramel Cake. My addiction toward salted caramel makes me choose this cake. You can't never go wrong with chocolate and orange, but I've never thought of combining those two flavours with salted caramel. Anyway, the cake contains an aerated chocolate shortbread, orange and lemon marmalade, mandarin cream, Murray River salted caramel cream and dark chocolate mousse, glazed with a shiny chocolate mirror glaze and topped with a freeze dried mandarin segment. When I had my first bite, I was not really impressed. The  mandarin cream left a bitter taste, which is not pleasant at all. However, when I kept digging in, I could not stop myself from adoring this little piece of cake. The combination of all three flavours works! I love the salted caramel cream and I love everything about this cake, except the mandarin cream. I highly recommend this cake to everyone!

After satisfying myself with the two cakes earlier, I decided to try one of their macaroons, which is the Peanut Butter and Jelly Macaroon. To be honest, I couldn't taste the jelly at all, the peanut butter is too overpowering. All I can taste is just peanut butter, in a form of a macaroon. This is by far, my least favourite out of the three dishes I purchased in this shop.

Overall, I highly recommend this shop to anyone who loves desserts! The layout of the shop is also nice, sadly I forgot to take picture of the shop itself, so I apologize for that.
Anyhow, that's it for now, thanks for visiting our blog,
and see you guys next time! Cheers!

Pappa Rich

Pappa Chicken Rice with Steamed Chicken

Whenever I hear Steamed Chicken I don't usually go crazy over it, but that changed since the day my friend asked me to try it when we went to Pappa Rich. Most Steamed Chicken's I've tried were bland and dry, but not this one. Pappa Rich's version of steamed chicken changed the way I see this simple dish.

The queue at pappa rich was long and we had to wait for at least 15 minutes to finally get seated. So I  did what any normal hungry person would do and chose what i'm ordering while we were still on the queue. I picked congee at first but my friend told me to get this instead. Luckily I listened to her. The food was served in just a few minutes. They served this dish with clear soup, a saucer with chilli and sweet soy sauce, and the dish itself. Everything was delicious, but the sauce that came with the chicken was the best. It was sweet and salty and it smelled so good. The chicken was soft and definitely not dry, the beansprouts were also flavourful. Overall, I would recommend you guys to come visit Pappa Rich and give this dish a try.

Schweinshaxn

Schweinshaxn is a famous german food, and it means "Oven-Roasted Pork Knuckle". In addition, in the Löwenbräu Keller, they served with Sauerkraut, Löwenbräu Bier Sauce and Mashed Potatoes. Hence, after they use their special sauce and mashed potatoes to balance the flavour, people will not feel the knuckle too greasy, and this is a great combination for the customers. GIAPO

GIAPO BUONO!!

Now if you're really into your sugar, this my friend is the place to be if you're ever in Auckland. Last summer I went to New Zealand and when we were in the city of Auckland we found Giapo on Urbanspoon as #1 top rated, so we decided to give it a go. We arrived pretty late at the scene but that didn't stop anyone for some late night dessert. The service was really impressive as you could test try each flavours before purchasing the one you wanted. Even though the line was queuing up the worker was really patient throughout your taste trying experience and trust me, I tried nearly all the flavours before choosing. I'm only there once right?

My final choice was the best selling Buona Giapo. This masterpiece contained hazelnut biscuit with a salted caramel base containing caramel praline bits, swirled with caramel, covered in biscuit crumbs and topped with toasted meringue and gold dusted hazelnuts. Sound pretty impressive? Honestly, I could of taken out the meringue...it was too over powering with sugar. But once that part was gone, it was heavenly. It had texture, sweetness and presentation wise, it was on point. Oh, and just when you reach the cone, you'll find out it has a chocolate coat as well. So for all you sweet tooth foodies, this place is a must!

Pattison's Patisserie

Pattison's Patisserie has several shops that operate all across Sydney, Australia. The classic, yet modern layout of the cafe creates a nice impression for customers. I visited one of their cafes a while ago while I was in Mona Vale area. There are a wide range of cakes, macaroons and bread to choose from. I decided to grab one of their tart collections, the Strawberry Apple and Rhubarb Crumble, along with a cup of soy flat white.

The cafe has a comfy and relaxing atmosphere that is really nice to socialize at. While enjoying the view, I tried the tart which I purchased. Overall, the tart taste good. The combination of strawberry, apple and rhubarb makes the tart taste a bit sour, but the sweetness from the crumbles balance it out. What is quite disappointing is the soggy tart shell. I expected it to be firmer so I can bite into it, but I think it has been left out in the fridge or display too long, which makes it a little bit soggy. The coffee is really nice, though. It's a really nice cafe, after all. I recommend those of you who are looking for a nice place to chill or hangout. I will definitely stop by to try their other cakes next time!
So, visit this shop with your friends if you're in the area!
That's it for now, thanks for visiting our blog,

The world famous Tim Ho Wan has finally opened their Sydney flagship store at the Chatswood CBD. The restaurant originated in HongKong and has since opened branches all over Asia. They serve a wide range of viands, with the Baked Bun with BBQ Pork being their signature dish.

Yesterday, I decided to trek it to Chatswood and give these special pork buns a try. I was on the queue for more than 20 minutes, and I was starving! As soon as I got a seat, I ordered these straight away and it was served in less than 5 minutes. I had to stop myself from touching them as I had to take a photo first so I could show you guys how amazing they looked! After taking a couple of shots, I finally decided to dig in. The taste was amazing! My taste buds went crazy. The outer layer was sweet and crumbly, and the BBQ Pork inside... yum! My tummy is already grumbling just thinking about it now. Needless to say, I was very satisfied! The 20 minute wait on the queue was worth it! You guys should give it a go when you're around Chatswood!

AQUA S

SEA SALT AND TOFU ICE CREAM?

Located in the heart of Sydney's CBD Aqua S a new unique soft serve place has opened that has been raved at by all Sydney food bloggers these few months. So I decided to give it a go with their interesting tofu flavour and their famous sea salt ice-cream. Better late than never right?

I'm not a huge fan with the whole fairly floss thing around it so I decided to keep in nice and simple in a cup. To my surprising taste being a non-fan of tofu in general I actually really enjoyed it. It reminded me of the soy milk drink in Asian supermarkets I used to have as a kid. The texture was very creamy and the flavour was not over-powering at all. The Sea Salt flavour was a bit different for my tastebuds, it was interesting nevertheless, not too salty at all! It's quite an addictive flavour though, once you start you can't stop. I would probably go again since they do change the flavours every fortnight and it's price friendly.

Brendan Dewar Patisserie

This French Patisserie shop is located in shop 119, St. Ives Shopping Village/166 Mona Vale Road, St. Ives Shopping Village, St. Ives NSW 2075. I visited this shop a week ago and tried some of their cakes.

This pretty little cake called Mango Dome grabbed my attention right after I saw it. It's a mango mousse  cake with passionfruit insert in it. What even makes it better is the biscuit base underneath it, which I think they called "Breton" in French. It has a sweet, yet refreshing taste that makes me want to eat more of it. You should try one of this when you visit this shop!

The next cake that I purchased in this shop is their Juju cake. It's a rose-flavored mousse cake with lychee jelly inside it and there's also a crunchy hazelnut base with chocolate sponge on the bottom, which I think is the best part of this cake. It's a very elegant-looking cake, don't you think?

The last cake that I bought is their Tiramisu. Their version of tiramisu is non-alcoholic, so it can be consumed by everyone. There are layers of coffee-flavored sponge fingers, tiramisu cream and cocoa powder. What surprises me is a layer of coffee jelly at the bottom, which cuts down the sweetness of the whole cake. For me, it was one of the best tiramisu I've had.

That's it for now, thanks for visiting our blog! CHEERS!
